I was just wondering....why are Sheldon and Leonard drinking Diet Cola in the cafe during this episode? the only reason I ask is because it would seem (a) they wouldn't care about drinking diet when it doesn't taste the same, (b) have they done the research to determine which would be "better" for them -- sugar versus artificial sweetener? It's just strange because I am a geek and never actaully started drinking diet soft drinks until I really started gaining weight. most geeks i know would never drink a diet soda.
maybe cbs is promoting healthy living... . For me it doesn't seem very healthy to drink artificial sweetener, but I avoid soft drinks for that reason anyway. Beer is the thing that makes me fat. ( not so good ether)
The only reason i could see is product placement oriented. Coke (inc) Dictates they want more facetime for their diet products and, unfortunately the writers obey.
yes, i prefer pepsi max as well...hehe...but i am pepsi's #1 fan...i just had to switch to diet a couple years ago due to the extra 600-800 calories i was taking in every day.
Given they are in College, and they do not look fat, they normally would be drinking regular Cola or BEER. Diebetics (spelling?) normally drink diet soda, with Heavy weighted people. Usually on TV, they would be drinking regular COLA or somekind of Orange, Grape, flavored Soda, or Beer, and with Chinese Food, possibly even Water (Chinese Food may have MSG and alot of Salt). As for Sugar vs Artificial, they are starting to put both in most drinks...especially the flavored Waters.
coke would be the sponsor...they are diet coke look-a-like cans...so maybe coke didn't pay the full sponsorship fee. lol
but anyway....yes....college-aged kids as skinny as these guys would not normally drink diet unless their family raised them on it or something. just odd...that's all.
