The Big Bang White Board

Andy

If you like "The Big Bang Theory"....

All of you folks in the good ol' US of A who like TBBT really, really need to check out the the British TV show "The I.T. Crowd". With 2 fabulous characters who would slot right into Leonard and Sheldon's peer group and a sweetie of a girl that would have Howard homing in on his "first British chick", this is sitcom at its finest. Does anyone relate?

Just as soon as I get caught up with Torchwood, I'll be on this show like a whippet on a postman's leg. Looks pretty good from what I've seen of it so far.

is it on BBCAmerica? I lived in Australia and New Zealand too long not to appreciate good shows... When on BBCAmerica?

I don't think it will be on BBC America... in the UK it was on Channel 4, which is an independent station. The BBC usually only shows the stuff that it has commissioned itself.

Andy BBC America is a strange-fish as well as being mostly garbage and not at all representative of the high standard of the BBC. It also shows Channel 4 progs for some reason. So who knows it may show that program, more likely it will end up on PBS in a couple of years!

andy, i wouldn't listen to dog.... BBC America isn't all that bad, it's more akin to Channel 9 in australia... some garbage, some fluff, some good stuff.... and dog, from what i understand, the BBC in britain doesn't have all that high of a rating with the public either on programming or with news reporting..

That's complete nonsense and you clearly have no idea of what you are talking about! I am British but live I live in the USA and can comment on all of these channels. and BBC1, 2 and the 5 BBC cable channels which appear as part of the Sky Network is quite an excellent network with no commericals since it is funded by the UK License fee.

BBC America in contrast is a completely garbage channel with too many adverts and very poor programming. I know because it's in our TV Max channel line-up and it is so poor that I wouldn't waste time watching it. 6 year old episodes of Bargain Hunt, 40 year old Monty Pythons, and hours and hours rubbish Home and Clothes shows that are only shown back in the UK on BBC1 as morning daytime television, just don't make it worth the bother.

BBC News broadcasting is simply excellent and world reknowned. I wonder where you get your crazy facts from.

Now you are wasting your time if you are trying to wind me up, because frankly I don't actually care. Have a nice day. :-)

To the dogg and the black hole... chill out! I didn't mean to start an argument. Regardless of your views on the BBC or BBC America, I'd still like to remind you all that The IT Crowd is an excellent example of the type of comedy that the British and Irish excel at. I hope you get it soon. Yes, it is quite different from TBBT, but I just think that if you like TBBT you'll really enjoy The IT Crowd also. Would anyone like to recommend any other American comedies to me? I love the dryness of american humour... My Name Is Earl is a particular example and is superbly well written, with fabulous characters like Randy and Joy, that a viewer can really warm to. Oh, and P.S. I love talking with you guys. I have joined other forums in the past that have all the warmth of a dead cat's armpit, but this one really is good old fashioned FUN. I have no shame (as no nerd would) in saying that I look forward to logging on and seeing what is being talked about. Keep it coming! Agreed?

apparently you are wound up or you wouldn't be such a nerd about bbcamerica. LOL

You appear to be very confrontational. Just maybe some of as aren't as geeky as we make out here and just maybe popularity is not an issue. Don't get too carried away, it's only a TV show which plays with stereo-types.

how do we watch it in the US?
