A question about absolute zero? 4 Replies

I was just thinking about absolute zero after watching an advert on t.v. when I started to wonder about the stability of matter if it is actually reached. When this limit is reached would matter jus…

Magnetism 11 Replies

I have another one for "y'all". My A-Level physics teacher mentioned something about magnetism to do with the alignment of the spin of the electrons on the outer electrons. Now I was looking at Iron…

Entangled Twin Photons (It's quite long)

Signal Travels Farther and Faster Than Light By Malcolm W. Browne July 22, 1997 It was as if some ghostly bridge across the city of Geneva, Switzerland, had permitted two photons of light nearly se…

For anyone interested in the Hubble Telescope 1 Reply

Thanks to Astrotech, I was able to get the latest Hubble Space Telescope images on "Cosmic Collisions" and "Interacting Galaxies". There are about 50 new images, and they are really amazing. The link…

Twin Particles 4 Replies

I viewed a short program about quantum mechanics earlier, and it metioned something about twin particles. It stated that in 1997 in Geneva an experiment was conducted where two photons, that were twi…

The Speed of Gravity 8 Replies

I was thinking? Does Gravity have a speed? I imply this question in respect to light, not the affective speed of a body under the influence of gravity. I understand that normally, the speed of gravit…

Light and Time? 2 Replies

The relation ship between light and time? Please correct me if I am wrong, but are light and time the same thing? I believe I have heard it somewhere and I don't want to keep thinking about it if th…

The Dual Outcome of 3/3. 2 Replies

Here's one for you.... I know its an old one but I could never find a definite answer. If 1/3 is 0.333333recurring and 2/3 is 0.666666recurring, dose that mean 3/3 is 0.999999recurring? I always th…

Simple? All this covariant stuff and the index salad totally confuse me. I stick to quantum mechanic. Simple and beautiful. And nobody is expected to understand it.

It's Relatively Simple!

I've been studying Einstein's Theories of Special Relativity and General Realitivity this week, after a break of a few years. Oddest thing. 1. It now reads easy and straight-forward to me reading it now because I want to do it, and never did make a lot of sense before when I had to do it. 2. It makes sense! 3. It is no more involved than Newtonian Physics and adds little more. 4. Newton was prevented from achieving the same gold standard and conclusions only through his ignorance of 747's, motor cars, and rockets, otherwise he'd have nailed it.
