The Big Bang White Board

In the “Panty Piñata” episode, I thought it strange that Penny would stride into Sheldon’s house and make demands. While I wholly agree Sheldon needs to be taken down a peg or two, the episode would have made more sense to me and I would have been behind her 100% if they were in her apartment when Sheldon started being irritatingly obstinate, imposing his will on her in her home. That was his house, why shouldn’t she follow his rules?

And at the same time, I don’t think asking people not to touch your food is too outlandish nor do I think having a favourite seat—which everyone knows is your favourite seat—is a problem so long as it’s in your house.

Most people, although you know them and like them, don’t wash their hands properly and perhaps accidentally touch nasty things. You yourself put microscopic critters on your food so why compound things by having an additional set of hands touch it? And I know a few people who have their “favourite” spots who are no where close to being any kind of genius. My own father had a barcalounger that when he came home, whoever was sitting in it moved the hell outta the way and in talking to my friends I found this to be common—especially or more so with the men of the house.

Usually Sheldon is irritating (albeit hilariously so), but this is one case where I have to side with him. Too bad she pulled the wind out of his sails with the “I’ll tell your Mummy” card, lol.

It is a sit com! And the rest of the story line would not have worked if they were in Penny's apartment. How could Sheldon have given her a second and third strike if they were in her apartment? You guys over analyze this show. Just go with the flow and get a good laugh out of it.

Dude, simmer down. I’m quite aware it’s a sitcom but I also know they take such care to be accurate about other aspects of the show I have to ask why not something as common sense as this?

And I think it could have worked if he banned her from the house for something she did in hers. It would still be outlandish, possibly even more so that he would have the gall to punish her for something she normally did in her home that he disapproved of, e.g. like remove a band-aid, bad mouth a train, or any of the other quirks from the litany Howard rattled off.

Sheldon mentions penny to be "one of them"..
so technically that gives her rights to make demands etc in THEIR house too.
