Is Sheldon an Aspie on purpose or is it coincidental?

My husband and I love this show. Having a child on the high functioning end of the spectrum we envision Sheldon as being an Aspie. If not on purpose, at least a good example by accident. This show is hilarious!

I think it might be coincidental but it would be a great touch if it has been done on purpose, my partner has AS and couldn't help but laugh when Leonard had to hold up a sign saying 'sarcasm' so Sheldon could recognise it....we need one of those!

I worked in a community of scientists - not unlike "Sheldon" - and there seems to be a disproportionate number of AS'ers in the crowd. I am sure that this was no accident. It is refreshing to get a good giggle out of it though. I do love this show :)

haha I found this while searching for sarcasm sign because I felt the need to have an icon of it...but idk if it is or just coincidintal but watching it I have seen some similarities(?) with myself. (I have Asperger's)

I've actually had some people tell me they think I have it, but diagnosis as an adult is difficult and expensive.
