The Big Bang White Board

Has anyone found the story to which Sheldon is reffering? (Princess Panjali and the monkey) Is this actually a true Indian folk story or is it made up for the show? ? ? Usually if there is a book I can find it, but this one has me stumped !

Thanks !

There is a childrens' book
The princess and the monkey /
Arnold Carter
1997
English Book Book : Fiction : Juvenile audience 22 p. : col. ill. ; 18 cm.
Ilfracombe : Arthur H. Stockwell, ; ISBN: 0722331223 9780722331224

but it's out of print, only in 4 libraries worldwide, and not showing up at the usual used book sites
I can't find a description other than the title, so the title may just be a coincidence, and have nothing to do with TBBT
